My name is Heather Leef and I've lived in Newark, DE for more than 20 years. I have 14 years of horse experience that includes riding and showing horses, teaching lessons/ summer camp, guiding trail rides, farm sitting, breeding, grooming, and caring for the horse. I have spent much of my free time volunteering at horse rescues in order to give horses the second chance they deserve. I have also helped organize several fundraisers including banquets, silent auctions, and yard sales. I am grateful to the horse rescues in which I found my career in horse dentistry. I am currently attending the Academy of Equine Dentistry in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. While I am not a certified dentist, I am able to effectively and efficiently work on horses. I am anticipating certification as an equine dentist in August of 2010.

My goals as an equine dentist include
- To improve the overall health of the horse and the function of the mouth.
- To identify the potential dental problems, and educate the client of the importance of dentistry.
- To achieve and maintain a well-balanced mouth involving the amount of pressure from the TMJ, molar table angles, and the incisors.
- To provide optimal dental care at an affordable price.
